Background:  Used throughout Asia for thousands of years as a multifunctional herbal remedy, Ginger Root contains beneficial nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. Believed to protect the immune system from sickness, Chinese sailors consumed Ginger Root on long voyages to battle nutrition deficiencies. The same belief is still followed today in Asian cuisine where ginger is served with raw seafood to combat food poisoning. Ginger Root is also an effective ingredient to reduce inflammation and relieve joint pain, along with acting as a circulatory stimulant.
