Background: Native to South America this member of the Solanaceae plant family is full of antioxidant properties.  The tomato is also a highly esteemed source of vitamin A, C, and protein.  Due to its unique chemical structure, Solanum Lycopersicum has the ability to inactivate free radicals, resulting in enhanced skin protection.
