Background: Native to South Africa where the plant was used to make herbal tea for centuries, Rooibos contains the essential minerals potassium, calcium, and zinc. Having high polyphenol content, Rooibos has very strong antioxidant activity. Rooibos can be incorporated in a variety of cosmetic applications.
